ALL THAT IS SOUND

In 2020, my live performance-based meditation’ music project All That Is Sound won the inaugural Jane Anne Rothwell Award. In 2022, I premiered the project at the Cork Midsummer Festival in 2022.

I’ve always believed that the gift of singing is something to be shared. I’m particularly interested in the listener’s journey of how they experience voice, the atmosphere of live gigs and how those experiences inform their creativity and imagination. I first conceived of the idea for All That Is Sound as the basis of my MA in Music Performance. It was a live performance and audience study and went on win the inaugural Jane Anne Rothwell Award in 2020.

Conceptually it is the marriage of my passion for singing and the philosophy of yoga and explores the concept of maintaining a clear mind, known in yoga as Samadhi. All That Is Sound invites the listener to awaken the vibrations of the nervous system through long, flowing vocal lines of vowels, short consonants, mantras, and chant, set in loops with ambient drones.

At its heart, All That Is Sound is an uplifting live performance for all. More specifically, it is an experience which can complement pre- or post-yoga practice at both indoor and outdoor music venues, festivals and retreats at sunrise, sunset or under moonlight.
